I very much doubt the driveshaft would change the shift feel in any instance of driving. A lighter flywheel MAY help as the engine will drop revs quicker helping slow the gearbox input shaft which in turn would help the synchros do thier job. But this would really only be evident during high RPM and fast shifts. But a light drive shaft will still be doing the same RPM as a stock one. Also a 1pce drive shaft should transmit more movement to the gearbox than a 2pce.

Have you spoken to toyota about your gearbox?
