Their suspension does exactly what it's supposed to do: keep the tires in contact with the ground.
(Dirt) Rally suspension is made for compliance and are actually surprisingly soft. Tarmac Rally suspension is much closer to what you'd see on a track car.
Everything is adjusted to specifically meet the needs of a given stage.
