No, if you listen to the sound clips provided you should be able to tell they are pretty different. This noise is more of a mechanical clapping noise, and it only shows up when the engine is cold and under a load of anywhere between 800-1800rpms
I had the crickets with my old pump, but they would only surface every once in awhile and only when the car was fully warmed up. They were not detectable under any type of engine rev/load
