Do you reckon any water got up into the engine compartment? If so, has it dried out good?
I'd take it up on the freeway and give it a good run to warm up/dry out the engine real good.
If that didn't settle it down, you may consider disconnecting the battery for a few minutes (then hook it back up ...
) to see if the idle will re-set.
Or take it into a dealer ....and they will most likely tell you "that's normal" ....
I hope you get it settled down.

PS - I don't believe that a high idle will cause any damage to the engine .... just to your nerves.
