Yeah he two piece couplers would be slightly better balanced but they have both sets of screws on one side so still far from perfect. Plus it would be very hard to machine, and since I'm mixing metric and imperial sizes there is no chance I'll find the right size off the shelf.

I think my best bet is to balance the coupler I'm using. I just ordered a magnetic balancer used for RC props. That should do the trick and I'll just have to take my time and tediously grind off a little at a time until it's as close to balanced as possible.
