well, the car was advertized as and shown as a track toy, so 'the normal' conditions should encounter for heavy braking and if the brakes are smoked - it is a manufacturing defect.
I would want to see an actual document from Subie or Scion defining exactly what "the normal conditions" are. Say... the car has 4 sits and I fit 3 250lbs bodies (somehow) and go to NYC downtown. is this considered normal? because I suspect my shocks would be shut after few hours of driving there.

yeah, I get that part. only most people complaining here have grinding boxes on stock cars. so it is easy to surmise they may be unlucky to develop this grinding (not related to extra hp/tq) after they install the turbo. i would assume shut synchros don't have much to do with hp/tq but rather RPMs and fluid used?

well, I guess it depends on who's filing those 31 claims and what he does for living. Obviously, common folks are at the mercy of dealership and subaru/toyota reps.
