$25k is a lot for a car. Why would anyone want to invest more in this thing than buying a Cayman?
I can name several <$20k cars that can take full on abuse starting with my Yaris.
At $25k this car had better hold up than Mustangs, Golf, Genesis, etc. And don't give me the this is a different kind of car BS. If a car can't get you back and forth to work reliably then everything is out the window.
I think the main reason this car has been so successful is the Toyota+Subaru (Japan) branding, their rep is building bullet proof cars.
If you're saying they failed at that and the car gets a bad rep, resale will tank and then the platform will go *POOF* IMHO.
