Nobody said it wasn't. I said break in recommendations (I.e. the manual) are about not being harsh on a cold engine.

If you'd like your rings to seat properly you won't follow lawyer written procedures.

Allow the engine and fluids to warm completely and then drive it with some common sense but just because an engine has less than 1000 miles on it is no reason to not drive it in its full range. I would avoid just hanging out in the upper arm ranges for extended periods until after you get the original motor oil out of the car but beyond that drive the car.
