Toyota corporate has trickled the "No FI" message down to the dealer sales rep level. There's evidence of this all over this forum. They could have left it ambiguous but it seems like both Toyota and Subaru are putting out effort to make sure the message comes across clear:

And back in 1999, subaru sai the wrx isnt coming here.
In 2002 they said no STi.
If you believe anything the hand models at auto shows say, or what the pathetic dealers say, then i cant help you....
