Take off the long, narrow trim piece between the passsenger side inboard knee pad and the footwell (It's 3" tall, maybe 12" long, goes from the center console forward, right below the molded "kneepad" piece)

Reach behind the start button trim piece, and pop out the USB/Aux ports. It's a single rectangular assembly, and it pops out if you push it from behind. Once it pops out, pull it forward an inch or two, there's enough slack on the cable.

Now, stick your finger in the hole for the USB/Aux port, and just pull the whole trim piece out.

It took me 45 minutes of frustration following the DIY guides to figure it out, but once you know that trick, it's a piece of cake. I can have it apart in 10 seconds now.
