After looking at
www.scion.com site it seems your Scions has no trim levels. There's no base, mid or top of the line, the only way to change a Scion is by accessories (similar to Mini). I would think these accessories would be installed at the dealer and not the factory.
Personally I would rather have it that way so I can can get the car the way I want it. I chose the tC at Build Your Scion (nice looking coupe) and my accessories came out to 3,510 dollars. Also, there's accessories that would be easy to install at the dealer but there's some that won't like the Smart key system.
Also what's the big deal with a key? It seems having the Smart key is just another thing that could go wrong down the line. Now if they made it like the S2000 where you insert a key and fire it up with press button that would be nice.
