that's part of the reason why (i'm sure) people are buying more autos than sticks; they just simply don't know how and/or don't have anyone to teach them.
in my experience most of the people i know that drive a third pedal are too afraid to teach anyone on it for the worry of damage to their car. makes sense, but doesn't help the enthusiast crowd any, because at the end of the day it's about numbers, and if not enough sticks are being sold then obviously they're gonna make what's gonna sell.
