Best two way dash cam that uses car battery and it's own battery?

I was wondering if anyone knows a good 360 dash cam that holds a battery charge and while the car is on uses the car battery instead (or charges the battery so it doesn't run out)

your best bet will be to go with a blackvue 2 channel (2 camera; 1 front, 1 rear) with a power magic pro. the power magic pro taps into your car battery once the car engine is off and once it measures that your car battery is at a certain voltage, it cuts off power to the camera so that your car can still start up when you want to turn it on. it gets pricey though

I was looking at that as well and it seemed very intriguing, but when i saw a few "failed within months" reviews on amazon that kinda led me off. Kinda wish there was a perfect product I wouldn't mind paying a bit of cash to have my car security :).

as with any product, there will always be a few bad apples in the batch. I personally haven't used the Blackvue so I cannot attest to the quality, but I know a few people who have used one for a long time without any problems. though, they only have the single channel and not the 2 channel version. I personally use a mini 0806 that have also a few people who claim that it has many problems, but mine works fine. as long as you buy from a reputable vendor, I believe that they will do their best to fix any problems you might have.

problem with on board battery solutions is charge capacity and safety. most normal lightweight batteries don't hold up to car levels of heat well. the interior of your car can get quiet hot if sitting in the sun, and if the dash cam is in direct sunlight, then its worse.
that's why many use the car battery solution.

I have seen options before using a large capacitor in line with the camera, similar to how larger audio systems use.
a 1/2F should be more than enough if you are wanting to keep it running full time over several days and not worry about battery discharge, and should be easy to get from any auto audio retailer.

like ryoma suggested, get powerpmagic pro. mine is 3 years and still works great.
or you can get
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-LUKAS-LK...0AAOSwEK9UHW7l

this is small battery that works using cigarjack which is you dont have to tap or use add-on fuse.

blackvue is not that good
I bought 2 blackvue DR500GW-HD(1 for front and 1 for back) and one of them stopped working after a year and wi-fi for the second one stopped working.

they have no warranty service what so ever, they told me to talk to the vendor that sold me the unit

You would probably be happy with Blackvue's Power Magic Pro. I suggest you use a camera with a capacitor though. The lipo's the the cameras always puff up from the sun and stop working. I'm using a Mobius with supercapacitor option but there are other that work just as good.

I also have the mobius. Can you provide a link to the wires that you used to hard wire to the car battery?

Never used it before so YMMV, but Blackbox Guard Pro 2 seems to fit your requirements and is highly regarded (and is also kinda pricey, but maybe it's worth it).

when you hardwired your mobius to your headliner, do you ever have to remove it? to let it rest?
