installing sensor/adapter for oil temp and pressure - how?

i currently have a Perrin Oil Cooler kit and i want to install an oil temp and pressure gauge. if i understand correctly, you need to install a sandwich plate or sensor adapter so info can be read and sent to the gauges i have. how do i do that when i have the Perrin kit installed? do i remove the oil filter spacer?

i hope those with the Perrin kit can share what they did so they can monitor oil temp and pressure

btw, i plan to get Defi gauges if this info will help in determining what to do

thanks!

Apologies for thread revival.

I am also looking for a solution for the Perrin Oil Cooler setup as it does not come with sensor ports. Did anyone stack the TRD oil filter sandwich sensor plate with long term useage already? Am worried by stacking plates, it might be prone to leakages.

@Brzerker instead of stacking, I replaced the Perrin sandwich plate with this TRD one.

I just recently installed an Oil Temp Gauge. I used an oil galley adapter plug. The oil galley plug is right by the throttle body on the block.

This is what i used.

Thanks. Looking at the product page, it seems the sandwich plate has the sensor ports only. What sandwich plate did u stack above to adapt the fluid hoses ?

That is the Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate that comes with most of the oil cooler kits out there.

So it's the same plate as the one on my Perrin oil cooler. Thanks :)

How exactly did you do this? i have the FBM kit which is identical in the oil filter area, and i bought the TRD sandwich plate. The problem is that the M20 extension piece is too short. What did you use? I've read some people are finding the extension that fits just the mocal thermostatic plate to thread onto the TRD one, but i cannot find it anywhere.

I ordered the extension for the Mocal plate from www.batinc.net .

The oil temp reads low in that location. I changed mine to the sandwich plate and the oil temp readings were much better.

Do you happen to have the p/n for the M20 extension?

It is the standard length extension screw for an M20 filter. The part number is ES20.
