install issue, cant break crank loose

So, I cant break my crank loose to save my life. I have it locked in 6th gear so its not free spinning but even with about 2.5 ft of tubing I can't get enough torque to break the bolt loose. It just has a really bad spongy feeling and still very very difficulty, turns the crank. Not sure how else to go about it.

Haven't tried it on this car but, sometimes you can wedge the breaker bar against the floor or frame and bump the starter a bit. MAke sure everything spins the way you need it to before hand though. Also make sure your using a 6 point socket, a 12 point may round it.

ended up having to jam a large screw driver in between the pully and the block in order to prevent that spongy creep.

Thanks.
