Redline diff oil with LSD
I'm thinking about going with Redline for my differential oil and their website says its ok for clutch type LSDs but doesn't mention anything about Torsen diffs. Is this going to be ok for our car?
Here is the part from their website I'm talking about: Quote:

This is all I found: "DO NOT USE Redline Shockproof or similar lubricants that contain microscopic soild particles in immersion to "cushion" differential components"
So as long as then redline you use isn't shockproof or anything that is similar you should be good. Here's what a Torsen product book said: "Approved lubricants are Synergyn Syngear II, Motul Gear Competition 75w140, Motul Gear 300 75w90, and NEO Synthetics 75-90 RHD or 75-140 HD. The Torsen ATB diff dosen't require friction modifiers." |
I have been using Redline 75W85 GL-5 gear oil for over 50,000 miles. No problem. I change it once a year in the spring. Make sure you get new drain/fill plug washers, as they are true crush washers, and are not re-usable.
