crank timing marks?

A friend took his right side timing chain off and is now struggling the timing marks. The cams have the little marks and the chain has the 2 pink for the cams and the black link for the crank but cant see the markings on the crank. New to boxer motors. Where is the crank mark?

Thanks

The crank mark is on the timing gear itself that drives the two chains, looks like a half moon dimple if I remember correctly. You have to remove the piece that goes over the crankshaft that allows the crank pulley to bolt up. It was pretty silly for me since I used the pulley to rotate the crank and had to keep installing and removing it to get it in place.

It's a bit hard to describe, I recall that it's on the gear sprocket itself, not the shinier flat machined face that the crank pulley/oil pump driver part goes on.

Edit: This is a picture out of the FSM.
