Favorite clutch?

Hey guys I am looking for a clutch to hold over 265lb ft, but want something close to "stock feeling," minimal noises, streetable, ect.

Seems like most guys prefer ACT 6 puck from my research, other swear by Clutch Masters (Fx 300), or Exedy Stage 2, and even Southbend Stage 3 endurance was recommended.

Here was a thread a few years back.

What are you all running and what are the preferences? Please post what you think with a poll and details, thanks!

OS Giken GTS1CD. Feels very close to stock.

I have a OS Giken TR2C, its has a pretty short engagement range(really sensitive) vs stock. Its overkill for the car though, no 1st gear lockout however.

SB Stage 3 endurance with a Stage 2 flywheel. I love my setup. Follow the break in to the T. It's a long time but it is worth it. No chatter. No jerkiness. No trouble in stop and go or on hills. I am running 350HP (278 lb ft tq) now and it is a champ. I am a fan for life.

ACT HD-SS.

Nice smooth engagement, slightly heavier pedal feel.

I've searched, I couldn't find the answer, will the FA20DIT clutch work in our cars?

No, they use the same clutch as the previous WRX if I remember correctly. They will not fit ours. The discs may be similar or shared with certain other models especially for aftermarkets, but not the full clutch assemblies.

Action Stage 2 is a great choice and price. I have a south bend now and it's so so. Also when I last checked south bend had discontinued the clutchs for our cars

My south bend will come out this winter for a Action Stage 2

Were there not issues with the Excedy clutches in the past? Or have those issues been resolved now? The last time I read up on Excedy was a couple months ago.

I have an exedy stage two with 12lb fly wheel. I like it a lot.

This was for my celica. It failed in under 20k and I was about 100 torque under it's limit.

My newer ACT-TC2-HDG6 may be over kill but it feels awesome and I can only burn my clutch if I am trying.

Yeah people were having problems getting locked out of 1st, lots of chatter, and problems in general. Apparently they came out with a revised version that fixed these things a few months ago, (Exedy stage 2, 3 puck #15955) but it uses the stock flywheel, and a lightweight Exedy one is expensive so I am kinda iffy.
On another note I drove a twin with 305whp and an ACT 6 puck, pretty nice but basically an on off switch, a little chatter etc. Pedal feel was slightly more than stock which I liked, but the catch point was tricky. Felt similar to a 400hp evo with some aftermarket clutch I drove last year. Seems like people get good and bad ones but I know they are coming out with a revised Streetlite at the end of September that should make it easier to drive.
Anyone else? what about flywheels?

Have competition clutch stage 4 with sprung 6 puck and lightweight flywheel. Clutch pedal is stiffer than stock. Catch point is a little tricky and there is a little chatter. Overall i like it.

ACT SB7-XTSS after 500 miles disengages and engages like factory but with a stiff pedal. No chatter
