Sway Bar questions
 

Hi,

I just finished installing TRD lowering springs and had to cut the end links on the front due to rust, so at the moment I am running without a front sway bar. I haven't driven it hard yet so honestly not sure what to expect although given how soft the OEM one is I don't expect a huge difference...or and I wrong?

1) Buy OEM endlinks and be done with it?
2) Purchase TRD, whiteline, or perrin sway bar since I'll have to get under the car again either way?
3) Drive without a front sway bar, might be good for the snow anyhow =D

If I do get a stiffer front sway bar, how would that affect the rear? Is it dangerous/unpredictable enough that I should also change out the OEM rear bars as well?

I read that in order to get the full effectiveness of stiffer bars, endlinks need to be changed as well? How true is this?...given that an OEM pair would run about 50-60 bucks compared to whiteline 120+ just for endlinks, is it worth it?

I have done some reading but still unsure, if someone can drop some knowledge on me that would be nice.

1. If money is an issue oem is cheap used.
2. Your money your call. Usually people change one thing at a time to see how the car changed. I would do it if you don't want to do the labor twice and buy twice if you know you are going to get a sway bar down the road.
3. Good if you like to drift. Bad if you can't drift.

I don't know how to answer the other questions.

If you aren't lowered more than one inch, stock links are fine. The links themselves do not affect the twist rate or force required to twist the bars. If the stock links cause your bars or the links themselves to contact something else on the car they aren't supposed to contact, buy adjustable links. As far as new bars, your call.

I have the stock end links, but if/when I buy new ones I'll be buying ones with a bolt/nut that goes through the link instead of a little balljoint like the stock ones. That way if a nut seizes on you just need to cut it off and replace the bolt/nut, instead of the whole link.

As for options for bars. Without a front bar the car will be very rear biased (oversteer). A stiffer front bar will make it more front biased (understeer). Personally I would stick with the stock bars unless you're trying to change the handling balance with a specific purpose.
