OFT Macbook VMware Fusion

I am running windows 8 on my macbook pro using VMWare Fusion and for the life of me I cannot get my oft to reliably communicate with the openflash manager. I get a slew of errors anytime I try and do anything. I am running openflash manager in administrator mode and I tried compatibility mode and I even set VMware to run usb in only 2.0. The closest I got to getting it to work was setting my usb to run in 2.0. It will recognize the oft and read it but will not write anything to it. Please help!

I find using parallels is a lot more reliable than VMware fusion on my macbook pro.

It turns out its not just my macbook. I borrowed a friends laptop with windows 8 and it is doing the exact same thing. I hope its not my oft.

Had a problem with mine yesterday... Try uninstalling Open Flash Manager and then installing it again and don't forget to run the patch they have for Windows 8.

Did all of that about 5 times. I have spent about 8 hours trying to get it to work now. I have tried literally everything even on a different laptop. Could it possibly be that I only have usb 3.0 ports and not any usb 2.0? I know that usb 3.0 is backwards compatible so that shouldnt be it.

I used my USB 3 port so that shouldn't be an issue... Mind screencapping the error messages? Where and when we're you getting the error messages?

I get an error message anytime any sort of communication is done between the oft and ofm. It can read the oft but it refuses to write to it. I will grab some screenshots and post them up in a few.

I am still getting these error messages, although I was finally able to write roms and upgrade my device so I don't know what is going on.http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...ismenam3/1.jpg

Now the damn thing won't communicate with my ECU. I was able to flash a rom before it updated now it won't communicate with my ECU after I updated the OFT through openflash manager. I don't know if I was sent a faulty unit or what but this is frustrating.

Anybody able to help? I basically have a $500 paper weight until I can get this to work

This error is caused by not having a WIFI connection. You can click OK and continue to use OpenFlash Manager. It just won't apply updates to the OFT.

You may need to be more specific about the OFT not communicating with the ECU. What error message? At what step? There has been no applied update that would make a once communicating OFT non-communicative. So instead of polling the forum for help, I think the best course of action would be calling us tomorrow during business hours. We can walk you through the process and get you sorted out quickly. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes if you have your car handy.

Cheers,
shiv
