Drivetrain chatter decellerating - 2015 brz M/T
 

Hello,

I've started a new job recently and every morning I drive into under ground parking, I find when I am driving down the ramp in 2nd gear doing (18-25kph) i periodically hear.. what I could describe best as perhaps a scratching/grinding noise you might here if you jammed a pop can in the flywheel mixed with a diesel engine.

Is this normal?

That sums up the noises these cars make pretty accurately I would say.

Normal. I hear it more when it's cold out, not an issue when it's warm though.

yes, normal! Had it checked by dealer. Normal.

If i roll down a very steep hill in first or second without applying brakes the manual transmission makes some interesting music.
Perfectly normal for these cars and if i listen carefully my manual corolla makes the same noises , only i think it has more NVH insulation.
