Willwood Calipers to fit standard rotors?
 

Here's a question for the experts, what model Willwood calipers would fit our standard rotors?


Looking for either 6 or 4 piston options...

I'm not sure it's worth to find ones that just 'fits' in sense that they can be mounted in right position, and ignoring what may happen to brake bias by mounting some random calipers on stock disks. Yes, you may save some cache by not purchasing full BBK kit, and yes, you have 90% chance of making braking worse/less reliable then stock, not improve it.

What is your goal? There are different answers for different goals. Is this for looks? Save on consumables with a different pad shape / size? Wilwoods website is pretty good at helping you find what you are looking for as well. You can sort calipers by size, mounting type, material, etc.

If you just want a fixed caliper versus a floating caliper for looks or maybe marginal feel, I would just go with the FHI 4/2 pots. Probably your cheapest option and the bolt right on the front, and there's an adapter for the rear. Wilwood doesn't sell the adapters for their calipers separate from kits as far as I can tell.

FHI 4/2 setup isnt stock brake bias. Using Z32 calipers with LGT rotors does though. And they sell brakets for them as well.

Z32 calipers, brackets for them, LGT rotors? Add to that cost of steel brake lines.. It somehow seems that needed list of parts widens and summed price won't be THAT much cheaper (if savings is main intention) from normal full kit designed especially for twins. Not sure it's very wise to try out luck with assembling from part bin for something as important as brakes and bet one's safety on that. I wouldn't call that as .. "upgrade".

I never said it was an upgrade, just thats its better than the FHI setup as brake bias doesnt get jacked with. If he is looking for aesthitics only its cheaper and safer than some other options. Full setup front and rear should be under a grand minus pads.

But for OP just figure out what size pistons you need to keep stock balance and call Willwood. Its simple enough to figure out with online calculators.

But those are designed for a rotor with a larger diameter and less thickness. Of course then you'll likely need a custom made bracket to properly center the rotor horizontally and radially over the rotor.


Or you could just spend $1000 on the kit I linked and pull 32lbs out of the front of your car.

If I may suggest our Stage I or Stage II kits. They are very economical, use 13" solid high carbon premium rotors and 6 pot Wilwood Forged Superlite radial mount calipers (which are race worthy calipers, unlike Dynapro's). Best of all, if you go with a Stage I or II, and you want to take it to the next level, you can always upgrade to our Competition 2-piece floating rotors without scrapping the BBK you already bought.

But they move the bias rearwards. Which is a good thing in my case.
