Damaged tire
 
Noob question
So i bought these rims and tire and after about 500km they start leaking so i bought new ones and had them put them on and i told them i wanted the old ones back...this is what i got

they told me that the tire got damaged from stretching them.
does that seem right or did they damage the tire while un mountin them.

The first photo is a torn apex. That's from mounting damage.

Your 2nd photo is a kincked (or possibly broken) bead. That's also from mounting damage.

If you're tire is mounted, you'll unseat the bead from hitting something (i.e. curb) before you kinck the bead. Both of those are 99.999% from mounting damage.

Anytime. I had a shop bend the bead on a brand new set of Z2's and try to pass it off as nothing.

If the bead is actually bent, you'll probably just have an air leak (as you did). If the bead is broken..well, things like the Firestone for the Ford Explorer can happen.
