Navi radio randomly turns off while driving
Has anyone witness this?
|
This happened to me quite a lot after installing an aftermarket subwoofer. It had to do with incompatible frequencies from the line out to the amplifier. Problem was solved by insulating all tapped wires at all connection points and introducing a Line-Out-Converter.
Hope this helps |
There is a couple threads on this already
Do you use a USB drive for music? Mine would shut off at higher volume, I replaced my USB and installed an OEM audio subwoofer, checked all connections on the back of the headunit Haven't had it shut off since Here is a thread on removing the headunit http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30144 Here is a video [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAWRRJcxWkI"]Subaru BRZ Stereo Removal - YouTube[/ame] |
Mine will occasionally reboot. I'd say it happens at least once a week. More annoyingly, though, is the more frequent issue I have of it kit acquiring a GPS signal lock for a good few minutes when I first start driving. This is irritating because those first few minutes are usually when I need it the most, lol.
Even MORE frustrating was that after 6 months of ownership, just the other day I turned it on and was presented with the "initial set-up" screen. It seems to have randomly reset itself and I lost all of my settings. It did keep my favorites on the radio and navigation, and my equalizer settings and such, but all my navigation history, all the recorded routes, and all the settings for navigation were gone. WTF! |
I haven't taken the navi out yet, that's the reason why I posted

Spoke with my dealer they said they havnt encountered a problem like this, I dont like to give my car to the dealer because sometimes things happen, I'm going to look into this and keep you guys posted

Just had it happen today randomly. Turned off then back on while driving.

The unofficial cause of this (because i had this issue to and it pissed me off and the techs at my work didn't believe me because its so intermittent) is get a smaller usb drive. If you have too big of a usb drive plugged in then the head unit can't handle it and resets itself, sometimes briefly and sometimes fully. Try smaller usb sticks for your music/videos and what not.

There seems to be a lot of issues and we all have the same variable A USB, I read somewhere that 64 GB did not read, but I cannot confirm this When I was doing trial and error, I just formatted the Drive fresh and put music on directly to flash (not in folders or anything like that) I would try that and see |

I had a similar problem that went on for weeks. The unit would reboot and have me go through basic set-up every time, which was incredibly annoying...almost like it was updating the s/w, which it wasn't. Eventually, it stopped and I have no reason why. Today, it works fine with no issues with a 256gb USB Drive...with folders...

I have the same problem. Mine turns off when the Auto lights turn on and off so if I drive in the tunnel the radio turns off. It doesn't happen every time but it's happening more and more
|
I can confirm that if you put all your music into one folder, the problem will cease.
