Valenti Lamps OTHER THAN Tails and Headlamps

We import Valenti products directly from Valenti of Japan. I've seen a lot of posts about the tail lamps and headlamps, but not much mention of Valenti's other products for the 86 cars. I thought I'd share some photos.

Interior Lamp Kit

This kit includes LED panels for the dome lamp, trunk lamp, and rear license plate (tag) lamps.

That's the kit.

There's also an optional lens and reflector kit that you can add for the dome lamp. Since the original lens is designed for a halogen bulb, the Valenti lens/reflector combo help diffuse the LED light more evenly, and it looks better.

Lens/reflector option

To install the dome lamp, you pry the lens off the fixture using a little screwdriver. Remove the bulb and install the Valenti bulb adapter, then stick the LED panel in place. You can see it comes with some little foam blocks to support the flat panel.

Install done (factory lens)

Looks good! You can see how the factory lens has provision for a type of bulb that's no longer there, though.

Here I removed the factory lens, and installed the Valenti reflector. I dialed down the exposure because otherwise it would just be a blaze of light.

The trunk lamp installs really easily.

The tag lights are a little bit more work. You have to remove the trunk lid liner, if you have one, and then get at the bulb housings from inside the trunk lid. Then you have to position the lamp units inside the housing, and get them stuck in place. It's kind of a ship-in-a-bottle operation. Once installed they look something like this:

Courtesy lamps

These are the little lights in the doors that light up the ground when the door is open, and help other cars see your door at night. The Valenti product is nicer/better than just a replacement LED bulb; it is a specificially-designed flat panel that fits in the stock lamp housing.

You just pry the lamp unit out, take it apart and insert the new panel, then plug the bulb base for the panel into the stock bulb socket.

It's really bright!

Vanity lights

These are the bulbs in the sun visors. The stock ones are pretty weak and yellow. The Valenti units are sort of a hybrid bulb/circuit board.

Again, you just pry off the lens, pull out the old bulb. (Hot if it's been on for a while!) Then just press the new bulb assembly into the socket. Put the lens back on and you're done.

Side markers

Some of the aftermarket units function as a turn signal and require extra wiring. Some of them are molded badly and they tend to fall out. The Valenti is just a replacement lamp -- no additonal functions over stock -- but it's made very well and the fit is excellent.

The come in clear, amber, and smoke. Install is very easy. Take out the factory lamp housing, quarter turn to free it from the bulb socket, put the plug for the new lamp in the socket, and put it back together.

They light up nice and bright, even the smoke ones.

I think that about covers it. The only thing I didn't go into is the Valenti center rear fog/backup light unit, but I'll get to that another time. Yes, we do stock and sell these items, on our web site, which is in my sig.
