More damn idle issues... About to say bye to my frs

Hey guys I think I'm almost at my last straw with this car. So was suffering from a bad idle issue and it seems it has been getting worse.. Coming to a stop the car seems to drop about 200 Rpms from 700. Now the car idle hunts constantly from 700-650. When I drop it in neutral it idles fine but in reverse or drive (auto) it seems to drop to 500 rpm like it's coming to a stall then jumps back to the 650-700 rpm range and I get a bit of engine shake. Same when coming to a stop. I called a shop and they believe it might be bad DI injectors not too sure without them looking at it. Also the car is no longer under warranty.

I'm about to buy an oft but not sure if that will help or will it? Either way anyone else having this issue? If I don't find a fix for this in 2 weeks I'm leaving the frs scene.

Do you have an aftermarket intake? Injen has been known for this issue? Also, how long has this been going on? Early 2013's had an issue with this until they were reflashed by the dealer to the latest map.

Well I bought the car a couple months back and the issue has always been happening since I picked up the car. Also negative on the intake. All stock.

OFT might help if It is indeed the tune as they all have the update built into their maps.

Are you running the AC when this happens?

swarb 04-28-2015 09:19 PM

What shops have you actually taken it to?
And what have you tried to fix/inspect/swap out?

This^^^^
If you bought used the reflash that fixes it may never have been done. If it has been doing this all along then that should have been the first thing to check.

Maybe something with the smart-stop feature?

Any idea what ecu version your car has? I had pretty gnarly fluctuation whenever i turned on the HVAC, mostly with the rear defroster. Car had A01 from factory, recall on these warranted me with an update at a local dealer to B01 map. Seems to have fixed most of the issue. How many miles do you have?

It's your car rejecting the automatic transmission.

Jk I dunno what's wrong. Sounds like a tune will fix it since all this stuff is run by the ECU

Step #1 - Find out what ROM you have and see if there is an update.
If there IS, dealer will likely update it for free even if car is out of warrantly period.

If that does not solve your problem, then
Step #2 - Get an ELM327 OBD Bluetooth module from ebay and the torque app and log some data & post the logs.

If the problem is STILL not resolved, get a OFT or Tactrix & update your ROM to OFT stage 1

The OFT tune will bump your idle RPM a little (or you can do it yourself)
