For those that run the Togue Factory brake duct kit...
 

1. What kind of pads are you running?
2. What kind of tires are you running?
3. What kind of fluid are you running?
4. Have you been able to boil your brake fluid, even a little bit, on track?

I had my first track weekend with the TF kit recently. After putting my street pads back in it feels like the pedal is a little soft. It may just be in my mind, but I'm curious to hear if anyone has gotten air in their lines will running the duct kit.

FWIW, I'm using DTC-60s with HTRZ-IIIs and RBF-600.

Sounds like street pads or brake fluid needs a quick bleed.

Two things.

1. you got used to the bite of the DTC60
2. your street pads and rotors are not properly mated or bedded. The surface grooves dont match (no mating) and th ebedding layer is from a different pad.

It'll get better as you drive it, but now you know why I permanently keep track pads on my car.

I think that's probably the case, but am interested in hearing others' setups and experiences, too. I've noticed this previously after other events, but I don't remember it being to this degree. Thanks for the response, Mike.
Oh, and I live in Denver, drive 20,000+ miles per year, ski a lot and use this as my only car. Unfortunately some of the solutions you guys implement (track pads all the time, etc.) just don't work for my situation. I wish they did, though. :) It sure would make things easier.

Well, the easiest fix is to just bleed the brakes first; fluid is relatively inexpensive.

As strange as it sounds, I actually have a decent amount of experience with cold weather and snow... I also ski patrolled in my spare time ;)

Yeah, bleeding is a cinch. I wonder if I really have air in the lines, though. Not that it's a big deal to bleed an not need it. But why do it if it's unnecessary, right?
Your comment about patrolling...did I say something about doing it in the past? What mountain were you at? I was at Loveland for several years.:cheers:

No. I did, however, melt the Carbotech XP10 pads and smear them all over the rotor at Road America
