ECUTek Cable has OBD Error when Attempting to Log
 

So I can load a tune, the interface shows that it see's everything but as soon as I hit Map Access it errors saying it did not receive and ODB Response? Yet if I unplug it and plug it back in it still say's it see's everything it just will not log.

I was going to call ECUTek but they are overseas so that ended that.

Has anyone else had this issue, it's rather frustrating that I cannot log to send information to my tuner but I can load his tunes....

You get something similar of the USB is loose or the OBD connector is loose. That's my bet.

Are you using the time they sent you to log?

I played with it more, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers everything and the computer see's the cable no issues it just has issues keeping the connection to the car. I tried messing with the car ODBII Connector end no luck then messing with the cable I got it to work for a short time then stop, wiggled it again and it worked again for a few minutes then stopped.

Thankfully the last time I was able to get the data I wanted to show the tuner logged before it errored again.

I think the cable has a short in it but without another cable to test with I am not sure.

Try pulling the OBD2 connector towards you and holding it there. Does it log for longer?

I have to wrap the cable around the gear stick to hold it in the pulled back position since the port is dodgy. I suspect a pin has been pushed back, but it's so damn awkward to work in that space that I haven't been bothered to fix it.

Sorry to resurrect, but I'm having the exact same issue. Were you ever able to resolve it or figure out what the cause was?

The early FRS have a weak ODB connector, the best thing to do is to buy a extension cable and connect the ECUtek (or OFT, Tactrix) cable with that. It's possible you need to bend some pins to make a good connection.
