HELP!!

So this problem started yesterday. My left signal (front, rear, and dash) will stay on. I can't signal right or put my hazards on. I think I may need a new flasher relay but I'm not sure. I have TOMS tails and the TOMS relay that was supplied with it.
If anyone has any input as to what I should do and/or if you have an extra relay, I am willing to buy and pick it up from wherever you are. Please help lol. :mad0259:

I've had the tails for about a year now. No other electrical mods besides switching out the side marker LEDs.

Could be a bad relay, i guess. Can you bypass the relay and see if it does the super speed blinking? That would tell you for sure.

How do you bypass the relay? I unplugged the relay and tried to turn on my turn signal and flashers but nothing happened. No lights or anything. Just nothing at all.

WTF happened to your OEM flasher?

ZOMFGAARON 04-19-2015 12:50 PM

Leave the relay unplugged for 10 minutes and then put it back and try your flashers. If they still don't come on disconnect your battery for 10 minutes to reset your electronics. Have you installed leds for your front turns as well?

I had a problem with the flasher that came with my TOM's as well. I ended up purchasing a Tap Turn aftermarket flasher and haven't had problems since then. Added features as well. Not all that necessary, but, hey, it's worth mentioning....

Its a bad relay. I have the Toms also and the exact same thing happened to me. I didn't think of it much over the weekend then come to realize I have a dead battery the follow Monday morning :bonk:.

Any similar LED flasher relay should work, try an auto parts store if you can't wait, should be a Toyota/Lexus part. I got this from Amazon because it was available on Prime and haven't had a problem since.

Thanks everyone for your input. I unplugged the relay for 15 mins or so and plugged it back in. I haven't had a problem since but I did order the relay that @BigFatFlip recommended. I'm also considering the tapturn relay too. Is it pretty convenient to have? Or could I seriously do without?

I considered the TapTurn when looking, but thought of it as just something "nice to have". I just needed something to get back on the road, and didn't find anything at the autoparts store, which is why I just went with my suggestion.

So if Im looking to install TOMS tails that I just bought used (no relay included), would this relay work? I was going to buy Tapturn but they have long shipping dates and Id like to install the tails ASAP.

Let me know if you have any recommendations!

^What he said. Pretty much any Toyota LED flasher relay should work, just make sure its compatible with the FRS/BRZ. I have the one I've linked for a couple of years now without any issue.
