WTB 17x7 wheel 15 lbs
 

My racing class (SCCA T4) only allows up to 15 labs and OEM size rims (17x7)



If you have any for sale or recommendations, please let me know. The closest I have come is 17 lbs

I was going to say TWS, but they come in 17x8. I don't suppose you could argue that 16x7 is an OEM wheel size overseas, could you?

Or they might be able to be special ordered. Talk to @CSG Mike about it.

edit The 17x8's come in at just under 14 lbs, so a 17x7 would be less.

That sucks, with the RPF1s coming in a 14.85lbs list weight. Maybe balance the wheel with 7 10 gram wheel weights to hit 15?

Is it UP to 15 lbs, or DOWN to 15 lbs?

edit Per the April GCR, T4 may go DOWN to 15 lbs. So TWS is out.

The way I read this, wheels under 15lbs would be considered illegal.

We can easily have a 17x7 made.... but it would be (way) under the 15 lb minimum I see in a later post in this thread?

On the other hand, we can also intentionally make a wheel heavier to be *exactly* 15 lbs, but with the center of mass as close to the hub as possible to minimize rotational inertia.

Custom made, that is good to know. I wasn't thinking that way. Is 2 lbs worth it to go custom?



Would RPF01 with balancing weights do the trick, like suggest before. It is listed as 14.85 lbs.
