Ringing / Pinging from under center console

Recently I've noticed that @ about 3K RPM and above I can hear this ringing/vibrating sound coming from under the stick or maybe the stick itself? The more I accelerate, the louder it gets. It almost sounds like 2 pieces of metal that are vibrating closely together. If I'm in gear and I hold the stick and move it to the left or right the sound changes a bit. It's really weird and I hope that it's not anything to do with my transmission / drive shaft.

I've tried to diagnose by taking off the center console and trying to listen to see if its the metal reverse lockout plate but as you can imagine the noise from underneath the car with all the stuff off is pretty loud. I have a Kartboy short shifter and really cannot find the problem worth a damn. I'd like to think I'm pretty good about this stuff.

Anybody have this type of issue

I'm running Motul 300 in the tranny/diff. Yes I used the proper amount of fluid in both.

I know there's been some vibrating problems with the stick in past posts,

not sure if this is the issue, i'll try removing the knob to see how that turns out.

Thanks in advance :)
