koni yellow max spring rate

Anyone know what the max spring rate the koni yellows can handle? Anyone have a dyno of the ots koni yellows.

Thanks.

@Racecomp Engineering is probably the most likely to know

I have not seen a dyno of the Koni Yellows for 86. My guess is they could be fine with up to 350 lbs/in springs, but that's just a guess.

afaik they're rated for up to 500lb/in ishhh (info from back when I was didling with VWs)

not sure if anyone has a BRZ/FRS koni dyno but I'd be surprised if they're anything different from their general application, which is a small firming of the low and high speed compression (barely noticeable) and a significantly higher high-speed rebound with a fast ramp-up rate.

a quick and cheap fix for most drivers, but will "jack down" quickly over successive bumps.

When I ran koni yellows on my cobalt i ran them at 1/2 turn from full soft anything past 3/4 would result in shock jacking.

Can you explain or provide an article that explains the effects of an overdamped and underamped shock?

This might help. I think I covered that in here.

EDIT: I didn't really talk about underdamped situation much in there. That will result in a bouncy ride (you hit a bump and the chassis takes a few oscillations to settle).
