I'm looking to upgrade speakers

I don't wanna spend big bucks on new speakers but something better than stock. Any suggestions on brands? Or would it be ideal to just upgrade the amplifier for better sound quality? Add self powered sub for better bass? Any suggestions/advice will be greatly appreciated. :)

What exactly is "big bucks"? What is you absolute budget? You'll end up having to get an amp for sure if you want to run sub+speakers.

$300.00 is my budget....I don't wanna spend more than that....just want a better sound than the stock....

You won't get better sound from just speakers in fact just the opposit.
I put in my focals before adding the amps and it was not better until the amps were installed

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BZFSYA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1"]Amazon.com : Infinity Reference 6032cf 6.5-Inch 180-Watt High-Performance 2-Way Speakers (Pair) : Vehicle Speakers : Car Electronics[/ame]
Infinity Reference

Brought a pair of these to replace the stock door speakers much clearer sound and its actually two speakers so now its a 10 speaker system in my car.

Not true your focals were probably 4 ohms if you pickup 2 ohm speakers you wont need to upgrade the stock amp and you will still get a better sound.

Thanks...so I wouldn't need to upgrade the stock amp with those speakers?
Any other suggestions on speakers/amp for a budget of $300.00? Thanks:)

Yup with this speakers you don't need to. For me it sounds good pretty good right now but I have a upgraded headunit I would suggest adding some more sound deadening to the doors to reduce some the road noise.

Has anyone on the forum tried the oem audio plus? Curious how the speakers were improved because I don't really care about the sub....

I wonder how much the HU had an effect to the speakers you got... When I had an aftermarket HU on a different car, the stock speakers were pushing out more and sounded better.

Do you know if these can be used [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Infinity-629I-Two-Way-Speakers--Inch/dp/B0019G2HA0/ref=sr_1_7?s=car&ie=UTF8&qid=1422949726&sr=1-7#productDetails"]Infinity 62.9i Two Way Speakers[/ame] in a plug and play manner for the door speakers?

if they can, can anybody also tell me what else I will need to install them. This would be my first speaker install so if I can get by with running the factory wiring for now that would be great and also if I need a spacer, are there any recommended ones that would be compatible with these?

yea looking at them they should be since they're 2ohm speakers. I used metra 72-8104 for wire connectors easy plug and play. The spacer I used was Scosche 6.5" spacer but this one required modifications to use so I would recommend going up a size.

Well my headunit is more of android device where they focused more on the display, feel, and app integration versus the sound quality you would get from a Kenwood or JVC. So sound improved slightly over stock enough to notice tho.
