FA20F conversion?
Has anyone considered doing an FA20F conversion now that subaru has officially put that engine in the 2015 wrx? all it would take is a new manifold, injectors, fuel pump, and pistons right? (other than the twin scroll turbo, that is)
would that be not unpossible? thoughts? |

If you google for FA20 to FA20DIT you'll get more results

My understanding is that the FA20 in our car is more compact, both the exhaust and intake are closer to the centerline of the engine. So you would need to have a custom exhaust, change the intake manifold and maybe a few other things, not a whole lot would transfer over with the engine. Seems to me like it would be easier/cheaper/faster/better to just pull your engine out, build it and install a turbo kit.
If you want more details I remember seeing a picture of the dimensions of the two engines somewhere around here. Maybe in a fuel injection related thread? |
thx guys, i had no idea this was so old, i didn't think to search for FA20DIT in stead of F
