drop in air filters and comparing brands
Hello all just wanted to know if there is any info as far as drop ins and what actually flows better, cosworth, k&n etc. i already have a k&n drop in but have heard really good results and reviews with the cosworth filter just wondering if changing would be worth it or any difference at all.

There are a couple of threads already discussing the different gains on drop ins buried in the forums but I found a few for you.

I prefer Apexi. My comments are in this thread:
air filter... apexi vs cosworth You probably won't see a whole lot of difference between the various brands as far as performance. |
don't waste your money going with cosworth @ N/A level..
|
They all do the same shit +/- 1hp.

thanks all for the responses and feed back and also help! so i guess ill just stick with my k&n

I'm not a fan of green, but my HKS filter is shmexy. :D

As people have already stated, all of the drop in filters will do the same thing. Any variation in +/- power between drop in brands are negligible when actually driving. Go with the cheapest option or your preferred brand and you're fine.

Doesn't matter, just get paper filters. Especially these days I wouldn't mess with an oiled filter on a new car around all those sensors if I could help it. If you happen to go in for a misfire and the dealer finds some K&N jelly on your MAF sensor they'd probably just laugh and hand you your keys.

I went with the Blitz SUS Power dry filter, because it addz mad JDM power yo!

Who doesn't want mad JDM power? I'm personally using the APEXi filter since red filters add more HP on top of the raw JDM power. Trust me, I'm not an engineer/scientist. |
