Driver-side door not responding !

Hey there everyone !

I spent some time scroll through the previous threads but could not find an answer .

Recently my driver-side door stopped responding as I walk right next to it to unlock my car via handle (keyless lock/unlock) .

I find this very peculiar because my passenger-side still responds as I walk up to grab the handle with the fob in range .

Did I accidentally pressed something that caused this ?

Also my car recently has had some body work done , if I did not press anything I believe this may have caused the issue with the door not responding .

It is funny because to others it appears that I am a gentleman who likes to open doors for my passengers when in reality I am too lazy to press the button the fob that is in my pocket .

Please help !
:thanks:

If the body work involved the door it is very likely they did not hook the wires back up.

That is what I am thinking !

Although the door did not get damage in the hit and run accident it is on the same side .

I wanted to just figure out what had happened before heading back to my body shop to get it fixed .
:bonk:

Did it work after the accident but before the repairs?

I had the same happen after bodywork. I had the bodyshop check that the wires were hooked up, and they told me that the dealer would need to reprogram it. Only my trunk button still works. I havent bothered to go to the dealer to see though as I know they will charge me, and I forgot about it after I got used to pushing the button on the key. Mine did work after the accident, but before repair.

Thank you for your input !

It's funny because I just dropped my car off for service at the dealership ; should of asked them how much it would cost !

I'll see if they will charge for that .

Try holding down the window button for like 10s

That is for a window reset I believe, which is not the issue here. This is the proximity door unlock in the door handles that the BRZ limited, and certain FRS models have.

Disconnecting the door handles wouldn't require anything to be re-programed. The sensors in the handles are just that, the smarts are within the central smart entry ECU.
I would bet that there is a harness connector loose or not connected. Probably in the foot well / cowl area.

Where was the accident damage?

Where was the accident damage?

The accident happened on the driver-side of the car right above the wheel well near the taillight .

Planning on dropping by my body shop anyway in the near future to pick up a check , I'll ask them to double check the connection before going to Toyota .
