Help me understand the internal WG on EFR

So my experience with turbo has always been aftermarket, but all external wg with a spring. On my err turbo, it's internally gated and I'm trying to check what spring rate I need to have it rated at, but I'm confused.

What I'm seeing on the mid boost wg is that it can crack open as low as 8.8psi, but under full load would receive the 20.6psi. From what I'm seeing here, I think this means it will hold at 8.8psi as the turbo spools and will crack open at this pressure, but hold until 8.8psi (just like a traditional external wg). The 20.6 is just a reference for not trying to run more boost than this. Is this correct?

I have my failsafe hooked up, and it's reading between 9-10psi of boost, which is a little high for where I want to be, but I wanted to see if it would even make sense to adjust the wg.

If you want to run less than 9 psi, then you need to swap out to the low boost WG canister.
