Exhaust Bolt Torques
Does anyone have a list of all the torques of the bolts for each piece of the exhaust?

I did 22 ft-lbf for header bolts and as tight as possible without stripping for the other bolts in the system since getting a torque wrench on there wasn't very reasonable.
If you need specifics, find the service manual that's floating around on here and search that. I'd do it for you but it's a 5000 page doc, so I'd rather not. |
For my headers manufacterer reccomended 50 ft/lbs so i did that. For the rest components i did a dab of antisieze on the bolts then nice and tight.

From the pdf service manual:

I"ve been doing my research but can not find what I'm looking for. Can someone explain to me what the above torques mean? I'm mainly looking for the muffler bolt torques.

I'd recommend looking here and using the "Low carbon steel" values: http://www.engineersedge.com/torque_table_sae_ftlbs.htm |

If no lock washers are involved, just tighten it good-n-snug and then tighten it a little bit more. humfrz for Bubba |
I've always subscribed to the "tighten it till it strips, then back off a quarter turn" approach.
