Coilover options capable of slightly increasing ride height.
Hi, I think this is my first time starting a thread on here.
I have had my 13 fr-s from new and am around 35K miles. At the rate I am going I might be looking at at least replacing the dampers in the spring--I can feel some degradation in the rear at least.
I have been very happy with the stock suspension, and only drive this car on the street--though my driving style is what you might call "aggressive". With the reasonable prices for aftermarket suspension I want to try to find something that does what the stock suspension does, but a little better.
My first thought was to go with billstein dampers and some stock diameter springs, but I had the thought that it might be nice to be able adjust ride height. My thinking was that I would like to go maybe 20mm lower than stock in the warmer months, but 10mm higher in the winter--the extra ground clearance can be a big help in heavy snow.
Is anyone aware of some reasonably priced coilover options that will work well with slightly increased ride height but still improve handling a bit when set to a lower ride height--without too much sacrifice in ride quality. I know most coilover sets have shorter dampers. Maybe something custom from ground control?
Looking to keep the budget under $2000 if I can.
Thanks!
