Interior Lights Flickering

Hi all,

Recently, I have noticed that my interior lights started flickering slightly when at idle. I have checked the battery and the alternator. Both seem to be outputting a good voltage.
Battery: 12.7V
Alternator: 14.2V

Seems like an alternator issue, but could it already have died after just 2 years? Maybe I got a dud...

Any advise on what else I should check or how to I can confirm that it is an alternator issue?

Thanks!

If its LEDs then they are probably just dying. My driver side turn signals start flickering after driving around for more then 5 minutes so I need to replace the bulb

Nope. It's all internal LEDs. Definitely something with the circuitry.

Either way, interior lights are like $4 so if you can't find the problem, just buy new ones

I'm talking about the backlight LEDs for the clock, HVAC and instrument cluster. I highly doubt ~20 LEDs are failing simultaneously.

Have you checked your emf readings? Any local cattle mutilations?

My dome light and exterior lights do this when idling bellow 800rps :/ alternator is putting out over 14 volts and put a brand new battery in. Still the problem persists.

Is your lights stock or aftermarket leds? I've seen some aftermarket leds flicker due to bad quality and not related to the car itself.

Flickering as a full shutoff flicker, or as in dimming intensity? I'm wondering if this could be a pwm issue with the bcu.

Either way sounds like a feature to me.. J/k however I am curious too as I have a few accessories hanging off the dome light circuit myself.

Its not so much a flicker as a pulse. Ill try to see if I can get it on video.

My dome is a cheaper led board but my visors have good bulbs in them and do the same. Any suggestions on where to buy the bulbs?

Was there any update to this?

I have started to noticed that my interior lights, DRL's, and brake lights will flicker/pulse when the car is under 1,000 RPM. I took it into the dealership and they said that it was not the alternator, battery or any of the grounds. They were actually unable to find the problem but said it may be the ECU, however they are expecting me to pay for that so as of this I have decided to not go down that route just yet so I am wondering if anyone has any other ideas.

Anybody have any experience with this? I'm now getting the same thing. Dome light and factory DRL both flicker when under 1k rpm.
