Camshaft timing oil control valve assembly - P0013

Yesterday I was driving home and popped a CEL for P0013. I opened the hood and noticed that a wire was dangling torn from the Camshaft timing oil control valve assembly...bank 1 exhaust.

This piece broke off and there is some oil residue on the cover. I haven't touched anything near that area.

Anyone else face a similar issue? Part number for the piece?

Good write up, those connectors are weak I had reseated mine after a few bumps. But to go through that, pain in ass.

Let the dealer deal with it...who knows what else is going on....

Was anybody able to figure out the name of the connector and part number? Mine broke off too and I need to figure whats it called so i can replace it.

EDIT: I figured it out. Camshaft timing oil control valve assembly. Part Number SU00300096.

Hi....I have a leaking, bank 2 exhaust oil control valve. I am going to replace the seal myself- just wanting to confirm this is simply an unbolt>replace seals>bolt back on deal? No funny business going behing the valve that I need to be aware of?
Thanks :-)

Yea personally I didn't need to worry. BUT my engine block had a hole in it the size of my pinkie and I didn't know if I had any oil in it or not bec I didn't bother to check (you can check my other posts regarding that issue). Which is a stupid way of thinking.

In my experience, going on the assumption that I thought my block was fine, had no hole and had oil, all i did was unscrew the bolts and pry it off with your hands and use a flathead of necessary. Then I oiled up the new one around the outside edges and just dropped it in.

Thanks....I figured that would be the case....just like a cam angle sensor, etc.

can you explain the symptoms of your car or was it just a light. did the car hunt for idle? hard to drive at low rpm? and was that the only code thrown?

thanks,
