Must sound extraordinary. Looks sexy, though there is just something about that design that resonates in the back of my mind as semi-generic.

This one looks like a cartoonized supercar. The design is good tho, but the line flow really weak. Look at the Lambo concept or Lotus concept, you will understand what I'm trying to say. This car doesn't belong in 2011, maybe 2005.

and before you know it, there's gonna be a new speed racer series with an all electric gas turbine car piloted by a boy and his brother/monkey sidekick hiding in the trunk

WOW!.... Although I can't say I like the front and hood, the side is the sexiest out of all the concept cars I have seen in a LONG time. Reminds me a lot of the XJ220 shape.

I'm liking the Jet engine idea too, it seems like they're really efficient - ~790km out of one tank!

How much does it weigh?

Too bad it will probably never make it to production.

Im pretty sure some company had a turbine engine car out at one point in the 60's, Chrysler maybe?

There are massive differences in efficiency for turbines that at generating electricity (the jag) and ones that are directlydriving the car (Chrysler)
A gas turbine running at designe rpm generating electricity is around 98%~ efficient where as outside the desgned range it's fairly inneficient.. And to drive the car directly it would need to change rpm, unless through a cvt

That's a good point although I'm a little surprised by 98% even at a fixed speed and load. I'd expect closer to 40-50% efficient before converting it to batter power.

The design language is good, i like it. Its not "normal".

Typically supercars today have a very aggressive presence most predominant seen in the bodylines. Jags C-X75 has a very subtle and elegance to it, moving away from the beauty of the beast with sharp razor like claws. Being more of a shark doing reconnaissance under a catfish skin, swimming with other catfish.

turbines in general are extremely efficient, much more so than any other type of dynamic machinery. gas turbines are amongst the more efficient turbines
thats why turbines are used in electricity generation (both from nuclear power and potential energy)
the efficiency of these ones is more like 95% i was exagarating
axial flow steam turbines are 98% (same design essentialy but)
40-50% efficiency is what you see from new age diesels
