Oil Leak at Camshaft Timing Controler

Looks like the sealant at the assembly blew out under the exhuast camshaft timer and now my oil is leaking. Anyone know what the repair bill on this will be? They will probably need to take the engine apart and reseal. To comfort ya'll, I'm boosted at 71k miles on my car.

I've been putting off getting the dealer to look at mine in an attempt to find others with this issue. Mine is on the other side but looks exactly the same. Are you sure its not actually leaking at the timing cover/block mating surface? Perhaps the dirt on the timing cover is just missing on the "bottom" of the curves due to gravity as opposed to it being washed off by the oil?

I know the dealers typically remove the engine to do the timing cover, not sure about the sensor.

Y don't you just trade it in for something else? Or maybe for a new '15 if you like it that much. :D

You sure it isn't oil blown out of that breather filter?

@Cal3000 are you still driving it? That really sucks, I noticed leaking on my car on the opposite side of yours, and on only at 28k miles. 3k miles are with the avo kit.
Let me know if you get a quote please

mine did the same. dealer wouldn't fix it until it leaked where puddles will form.

Discovered oil running out from underneath my car while it was raining. Ran papertowel underneath cam plate and there was some burned oil there. Going to make a call to dealership and see what they'll do.

not enough to cause puddles but enough to collect a WHOLE lot of dirt and black crud.. it will form a drop after every drive, and feel wet..

mine looked almost like the pictures..

Haven't got it fixed yet. lol. Don't want to take it to the dealer as they will probably break something on the supercharger.
Planning to take it to a local tune shop. I told them the issue and they quotes me at $300 for the fix which I think is pretty cheap compared to what the dealer might charge.

Good quote if you ask me.. here's mine. I think my oil pan might be leaking as well. a buddy of mine is going to help me re seal the cam cover with a new gasket and Honda bond, and I am also going to have him help me with the oil pan. He said he wasn't going to charge me, but I told him I was going to pay him anyways. Favor for exchange of a favor is the way I see it. Gasket was 30 bucks, and job time is suppose to be only 2 hours. We were both puzzled about it only being a two hr job supposedly because we found it quite difficult to grasp; we think it might be a 3hour job. He charges 70 an hour and is a good friend. I trust him.
