Dash Cam Recommendations?

Searched the forums and couldn't find recommendations for specific models.

Anyone have good experience with any?

Primary use is for security after reading the thread regarding the keying.

I also have this. Would recommend for its price. Though I have the G1W-C version.

I am wondering if we can connect the power to the homelink harness so give a cleaner installation?

Pretty much what all of my co-workers utilize in South Korea and Europe. South Korea is especially bad with regard to pedestrians and other motorists trying to make a buck off of you. Surely you have seen some youtube videos...

Thanks guys. The G1W looked particularly interesting. But for that model and others, it seems like the cameras are mostly designed to work when the car is on (and providing power to the camera) for the aim of recording while driving.

My main concern is keeping the camera recording, or recording when motion is sensed, for only when the car is parked somewhere and off.

Any specific issues I need to keep in mind with this goal? Can the G1W support this? Would my car batterly be majorly drained by doing this? And if so, maybe there is a camera out there with a rechargable battery that I can juice up at home.

There are camera's that will turn on an record when they detect a specific G level.

How sensitive they are is debateable.
How useful they are (since it only turns on afterwards) is more debatable.

lithion batteries are not a good idea for hot summers.
capacitators like the g1w linked are good for hot weather.

If you need to record 24/7 your best bet is to hook it up to the battery.
