Hard acceleration/revving noise

Hey guys,

I noticed that if my car is in neutral and stopped if I hit the accelerator hard say from 0% to 60%, I hear the scratchy sandy noise just before the rev.

I hear it at times to when I do somethign similar while on the road. not sure if you guys have similar experience or that I should get it looked at.

Thanks

Search "tip-in knock". Post if that sounds like it.

I doubt it's tip in knock, it's probably the suction noise from the intake side of the engine. It's more pronounced with an aftermarket intake, but 100% stock it's definitely more noticeable on these cars than most other cars I've driven.

It's a cool sound, like when you pull out that wad of paper clogging the shop vac.

Big fucking throttle body and a fast servo.

It kind of sounds like tip-in knock, but only happens on the initial acceleration. It doesnt always happen. It happens when I blip the throttle for a rev match too. funny thing is it doesnt always happen.

Its not the intake noise for sure.

Could be the stepper motor moving the throttle plate?

I'm with wparsons on this one...

Under the right conditions this car sometimes creates weird intake noises. I have a plug in my 'sound tube', but occasionally, under the right conditions, I can the pressure waves pushing past the plug.

OP, do you have a plug in your sound tube? Try either putting one in, or removing it, to eliminate that as source of bizarre intake sounds.

I did have a plug in before. I took it out.

With the plug in for some reason at high revs i kept hearing this rattle, but its gone with the plug out. So i left it out.

So this sound is with the plug out. Not sure if that helps.

Here's a crazy thought. What would a failed/failing kazoo thingy sound like? It could happen, right?

But I'm gonna stick with my original because I hear it all the time. At least it still sounds like a car with a real throttle cable. :)
