is there a shorter endlink out there? mcs motion control damper
Update: problem solved continue to post 12 for solution
My whiteline front endlink is too long even at the shortest setting for my motion control suspenion dampers with stock sway bar. does anyone know of any other alternatives? i found this generic whiteline KLC180-195 that can go 190mm. i get poppng sounds and i assume its the binding of the endlink I was also thinking maybe i can modify my whiteline one by making cutting the connecting rod or buy a new connecting rod. the problem is figuring out the pitch for the ball joint |
i also found this if anybody wants to be these a try. from awr

ill be hitting up mcmasters in santa fe and see if i can get a shorter threaded tube for my whiteline one.

I just run the KLC 180-195. Seems to be fine and my car is pretty low. The only thing is it pop and creaks and stuff like that. Either way tho the front sway bar is coming off next year.

With MCS coil overs I had my car about an inch lower then stock, and with the regular whiteline endlinks the sway bar was to close to the lower arm. I contacted Whiteline and was told to order part number KLC180-195

There shouldn't be any pops or creaks. Double check your work.

Take a diagnostic step and "paint" all the suspect areas with a chalk pen, drive around the block (replicate the noise), and revisit. Have the dampers dynoed to verify it is not the damper itself. We've done multiple MCS/JRZ/SRC/AST setups, and none of them make noise. |
im taking out my whiteline endlinks because it's too long and adding a lot of preload to the sway bars. i woll get back to you guys when i sort this out

I bought some cut to length end links. Saved me a bunch of time.

i knew it was the endlinks and here it is contacting the inner wells.
http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...ps16542aa5.jpg as you can see in the picture, the whiteline endlinks sit a tad higher http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...ps02fd7a28.jpg i went ahead and got a milwaukee saw and cut a decent portion off. whoever is considering hacking away at their endlinks should do so at their own risk. i'm not responsible for any injurys or deaths lol http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3215a50c.jpg took it for a test drive just earliar and now its fine! |
plus you got some weight reduction in there too
