OFT: New firmware and new user software

Just so no one gets surprised, we reeled a new firmware version last night (firmware #130). There is also an updated OpenFlash Manager (1.12.0). As always, the firmware will auto-update through OpenFlash Manager. And OpenFlash Manager should auto-update itself as well unless you are running on a Mac through Parallels. In that case, you will have to set OpenFlash Manager to Administrative privileges through Windows. Of if all else fails, you can just download the new installer which is available in the downloads section of our website. Just run the executable and it should over-write the old version of OF Manager with the new one.

Changes to OFT:

1) Flashing Save Button when data logging. Simple but serves as a good indication that the data logging function is active

2) Higher resolution bar graphs in the Realtime Data Display

3) A minor bug fix in regards to how FLKC, KC and KC learned is displayed in the Digital LED display screen

Changes to OF Manager:

1) Nothing that you will be aware of at this time :)

Cheers
Shiv

Shiv, for those of us that simply flash an OTS map and let it go, is there anything we need to be concerned with? Thanks.

Nope :)

These updates are just to the user interface and Datalogging. Basic read/write functionality is the same as it has always been.

Hey Shiv,

I just updated OF Manager and my OFT and tried to reflash the tune on my car as I'm running a version from April 2014.

It keeps saying "unable to connect to ECU". I also am not able to do the real time data display anymore which also makes sense if it isn't able to pick up the ECU. I also am sure to have my car on "key on" (where the radio, fans, etc work), doors shut etc.

Any idea what is going on?

There is no reason for the communication error as far as software/firmware updates go. First thing I would do is check the pins on the obd2 connector to make sure they are not bent.

I've had the cable plugged in for a few months now and the end was sitting on the floor wedged between the seat and center console...I'll take a peek later.

Thanks for the quick reply!

So it was plugged in all this time? If so, try unplugging it and then plugging it in again. That should do the trick.
