OFT newbie

Hey everyone,

I just got my oft and im trying to upload the new 2.0 maps but i cant figure it out. my CAL ends in A00C but all of the files on my oft end in A01c, so i have to upload the A01C file correct? Everytime i try to upload a A01C it fails, but if I upload a A00C it says the checksum of the file has been corrected. Are the A01C files in there just because I bought the oft used? I just dont want to ruin my ecu.

Also and anyone show me or point me in the right directions on how to use racerom. i saw shivs tutorial but idk what files to use or how to get started. dont worry i wont upload the files to my car i just want to learn

Thanks
David

ok got a little farther. so i went into racerom. used the .xml from the 2.0 edit file. the go to open the stg 2 uel A00C file and it says
checksum no. 1 is invalid in table: checksum fix
the rom image may be corrupt or it has been hex edited manually.
the checksum can be corrected when the rom is saved

can anyone explain this to me

Ignore that RomRaider message. The OFT corrects for checksums automatically so there is no need to worry about that. We didn't write RomRaider. If we did, that message wouldn't exist :)

Always go by what your CAL ends in, so in your case A00C, it won't let you upload A01C or any other wrong one anyway. The files originally on the OFT when it reads your car for the first time are always 01C, but when you manually upload its 00C.

And like Shiv said, ignore the checksum messages that romraider gives you, they get autocorrected.

Enjoy your OFT

it's all the way at the bottom when you open the tune file with romraider. make sure you have the latest xml definitions applied.

NO never use the definition files from the romraider or github site to edit OFT tunes.

Always use the romraider definition from the OFT download page with OFT tunes files

Also always use the definition for the correct tunes you MUST match the V1.5x definitions and V1.5x bin tune files or use theV2xx definitions with the V2xx tune files.

lf you mix them up you Will brick your ecu.

Always look at some of the tables like the Base-timing-B or the Open Loop Fuel tables and make sure the table and values look ok, if they look weird or corrupted you have mismatched your bin and def files from a different tune revision.
