Ecutek Hybrid SD mapping?
Gents
looking into the Ecutek software and you have the option to run a 'hybrid' Speed density option where you use the MAF and the MAP sensor this seems interesting as I'm presuming that you use the MAF for the off boost NA stuff then switch over to the MAP sensor for the boosted part of the map is anyone using this and can give some example maps? As I'm wondering how the handover works with the fuelling ? as you go from tweaking the MAF sensor scale to adjusting the VE map on the speed density? |
Yes, you can run a hybrid speed density mode and you can use MAF on the lower or upper end of the scale. Most often you would tune a hybrid speed density as you describe, using MAF for the lower end and SD for the high end, usually because you are maxing out the MAF sensor.
You can use any combination or any one of MAF, MAP, and RPM to define the switch to SD from MAF. An example would be to use MAF all the way up to close to max MAFv, then switch over to SD from there. You can define the exact breakpoint in the software. I don't have any example maps, but as long as your MAF and VE maps are dialed in tight, the switchover from MAF to SD is very smooth, seamless I'd say. You can spend a little time at the switchover point to really make it smooth. Fueling would continue just as if it were still running on MAF if tuned correctly. - Bob |
