Weitec spring by KW installation question
 

Hi guys, been a member and a spectator here for over a year. I am from the Philippines. Owning this car for 1.5yrs and numerous track days. Upgraded wheels and tires only. Since I've maxed out the stock suspension, I decided to upgrade to sport springs.

It's Weitec brand made by KW, lowers the car by 25/20mm front/rear with rumored spring rates of 4/5 front/rear.

I came across a problem/question regarding my newly installed springs . I've debated with the technician-installer regarding the rear spring installation. Thinking they were installed the wrong way. They installed it with the coils closer together on the bottom part (part number inverted), I am thinking it should be the other way around. Advance thank you to you guys.

From what I understand it shouldn't matter. I believe the close together coils are there like a helper spring on a coilover setup, just to keep the spring seated with a lower spring rate. So they can be mounted either way without effecting anything.

Yep, won't matter if it's at the top or the bottom. Those progressive coils will be totally compressed at resting ride height regardless of which end is up (on the springs, if the wheel end is up on the car things have gone horribly wrong :D)

The only reason it might be an issue is if they aren't seating correctly against the upper and lower seats, I can't remember which end is up on my springs (Swift sport), but I do know I installed the with the labelling right side up.
